woW hits 10 million subscribers

IRVINE, Calif. Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. announced today that subscribership for
World of Warcraft(r), its award-winning massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), has continued to climb, recently passing 10 million worldwide. Interest in the game has remained high in all regions, with thousands of new and returning players signing up through the holiday season.

World of Warcraft now hosts more than 2 million subscribers in Europe, more than 2.5 million in North America, and approximately 5.5 million in Asia.

Portal is from the makers of Half life (Valve) and the concept is very simple (they say the simplest ideas are the best).

Blizzard & Activision to merge

The companies behind Call of Duty and World of Warcraft are merging in a deal which could shake up the global video games industry.

Activision and Blizzard have said they will form “the world’s most profitable games business” in a deal worth $18.8bn (£9.15bn).

Tomb Raider Anniversary

I picked this game up purely by chance last week. what caught my eye was that it was being billed as an updated/modernised version of the original game which was released in 1996. If memory serves me correctly I had a Sega Saturn at the time and most likely played the original game on that.
